The solitude that they enjoyed had to be put on hold for the children to be old enough to appreciate the beauty of backpacking.

Think again. There is a saying, “It is never too young to learn.” When it comes to family time, backpacking parents could teach their children to love and respect the outdoors. However, careful planning should be prioritized when you bring a toddler along with you. Since every child is different, know your child’s limit and plan your backpacking trip around him or her.

Going on Solo Backpacking

Most of the travel makers have the idea that they have to have others around them to enjoy the overall experience or just to have some familiar faces they can talk to at anytime. This type is the kind that would prefer following their set of rules and their own sweet time. Going solo allows them to go out in the sun for longer and rest whenever they feel tired.

More often than not, backpackers often go solo because they find it hard to get a travel partner especially in short notice. During the backpacking trip, there are chances of meeting new friends and expand their horizon by exploring things on their own. Solo backpacking also plays a major role in building up their personality and confidence that can only be gained through many travel experiences.

Backpacking Volunteers to Help Haiti

Nowadays, volunteers not only consist of medical crew, doctors, or people attached to the UNICEF foundations. Regular people like us, the backpackers and travel makers are always able and ready to give the extra help needed to save and treat the injured victims.

Since the saving operations are ongoing at Haiti, it will be difficult for us to get there if they want to join the current group of volunteers. So, the immediate help we can give to the Haitians is through monetary, food and clothing donations just for the time being. Nevertheless, beware of the several sites that are scamming for donators’ money by exploiting the cause to save Haiti.
